Hi, I’m Ben Allan, Director of Ignite Respite & Support. I’m passionate about working with young people, and seeing positive change and growth through first-class support services.
My background is in both the Child Safety and Disability care sectors, having worked as a Youth Worker, Case Manager, Family Counsellor, and Support Worker. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare) with Distinction, a Diploma of Counselling, am trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Youth Mental Health First Aid, and am currently completing my Juris Doctor through Griffith University.
After many years of working independently, providing respite and support services for NDIS participants, I saw a need for respite to be better. A need for exciting, engaging and high-quality respite services for young people to be excited about. It was this need in our disability community that was the birth of Ignite Respite & Support.
I love seeing young people achieve big, audacious goals and dreams, and made a commitment to always say YES in supporting young people to hit their goals. This has included things like Scuba Diving, in which I hold my Advance Open Water license, among many other adventures I have had along the way. If it’s in your goals, we’ll help you get there!
