Recharge and recover from the challenges of daily care giving while your young person connects with others, learns, grows and challenges themselves at our September respite camp, hosted in Mapleton, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
We know that the responsibilities of caring for your young person can be tough, and our respite camps are designed to give carers the much-needed break to take a deep breath, and have some time to recharge, renew and relax!
Designed to foster connection and friendship, our camps encourage young people to grow in confidence and ability; socially, physically and emotionally, and are designed to help young people move towards achieving goals set out in their NDIS plan. More than that, they are a lot of fun!
With a range of activities like archery, rock climbing, swimming and canoeing, the mud-pit challenge and more, your young person will have plenty of opportunity to learn new skills, and connect with others that may be experiencing the same challenges as them.
We also know that sometimes our young people just need some time and space to regulate, calm and sooth their systems, and our chill out space, games, craft and low sensory activities are perfect for when our young campers need them.
The respite is catered with our fussy little eaters in mind, and we are happy to cater to any and all eating requirements. We know that meal time can be a challenge for some of our young people, and want to make sure that each of our young people has options that suit their diets and preferences.
And what would camping be without an outdoor cinema and bonfire, s’mores and all! Our young people will also have the opportunity to connect with local First Nations culture, through activities and story time with our good friends at Triballink.
